Maaseutua / Coyntryside

Nyahururu on maaseutua, ja farmeja kauempana ytimestä löytyy myöskin. Meidän onneksemme pääsimme vierailemaan yhdellä niistä.

Nyahururu have calmer countrysides near. We went to one to see how the life's there.

Useimmiten keittiöstä löytyy tällainen "kaasupönttö" ruoanlaittoon, on tullut tutuksi matkan varrella. Ei ole paljon sähköhelloja, aamukahvi pistetään siinä kiehuen!  / In most of homes they have this "gas cooker", have become familiar to me. Not much electronical cookers, morningcoffee is boiled here!

Ei tarvitse mennä kuin kymmenisen kilometriä ytimestä kun köyhyys käy kaksinkertaiseksi. Perheet asuvat kasvattaen viljaa, vihanneksia, hedelmiä ja kotieläimiä. Tyypillisimpiä eläimiä ovat lehmät, lampaat ja kanat. Työtä on paljon ja lapset auttavat siinä missä aikuisetkin. Kouluun suurimmalla osalla ei ole pääsyä, koska rahat eivät riitä. Perheessä, minkä tapasimme, lapsia on 7.

Countrysides are more poor, usually many kids to help the family do the work. Growing wheat, vegetables, fruit, homeanimals. Cows, lambs and chickens are typical pets. Kids don't reach till school for lack of money. Family we met there had 7 children.

Luonto on kaunista ja siistimpää kuin kaupungissa. Rauha ja hiljaisuus ovat läsnä. Tämän perheen farmi on pienen kukkulan rinteellä, mitä on kauniit näkymät alas rinnettä pienelle järvelle asti. 

Countryside the nature is benefit. Clean, calm, quiet. Their farm was top of the hill where you could see all the way down to the small lake.

Kuvitelkaa, että asuisitte itse savitalossa ilman sähköä ja juoksevaa vettä. Kyllä tulisi äitiä ikävä aika nopeasti uskon. Siltikin, se ilo ja "sisu" mikä näissä afrikkalaisissa piilee on uskomaton. Ei ne meidän ongelmat niin suuria ollutkaan. Ei kenkiä juoksemiseen tarvitse. Meidän maailmassa henkiset, rahalliset, perheisiin liittyvät ongelmat ovat yleisiä. Täällä sitä ei jäädä tuleen makaamaan. Se on selvittävä, koska muuta vaihtoehtoa ei ole. Kiitos Suomen sosiaaliturva, nyt osaan arvostaa sitä enemmän. 

Imagine yourself  living without electricity and running water. Still the happiness what is seeing in these people lives makes think that sometimes your problems are way too small to worry. Really, some don't have even shoes in their feet but they still run. They have their small lives but they are way much happier than most of us in Western countries with our menthally, financially, family problems... That's the african spirit. You have to survive, there's no other way. Thankyou finnish social security system, I'll appreciate you more.

Isä / Father

Toimme mukanamme paljon lasten kenkiä ja vaatteita. Suurin osa Hendrikin sukulaisten vaatteita. Myös mun pikkuveljien vanhoja paitoja lähti tekemään hyvää. Voi sitä ilon määrää. Perheen pienimmällä ei ollut koskaan ollut omia kenkiä. Kyllä horjutti ensimmäiset askeleet pienet lenkkarit jalassa. Pian sitä jo naurettiin ja juostiin minkä jaloista pääsi. Tätä päivää en kyllä unohda. Vaatteet ja elintasohan on piece of cake eikö niin? Ei, ei kaikille.

We wanted to be as help to this family and gave lots of children shoes and clothes to them. Most of the clothes came from Hendrik's relatives kids. I also gave to younger boys my littlebrothers old shirts. The smiles in their faces were real. Youngest kid didn't have shoes, luckily we had ones what fit. First boy didn't even know how to walk with those. That happens when you haven't wear shoes till your age 3. Soon he started to try taking steps and begin to run. I'll never forget that day. What small things can make. For us clothes and livingstandard are obvious.

Yksi asia loppuun minkä halusin vielä jakaa teille. Vaatebisnes, mistä tuun varmaan kirjoittamaan enemmän siihen perehdyttyä enempi kun on aikaa kotona. Katsottiin H'n kanssa dokumentti "True cost". Ei ole varmaan paljoa tullut ajateltua miksi ketjuliikkeiden vaatteet on niin halpoja? H&M, Zara, Gina Tricot.. Näitähän riittää. Vallitsevia isoja brändejä, jotka työntää uutta vaatetta puoteihin joka viikko. Oli hämmentävää nähdä aasialaisnaiset tekevän työtä aamusta iltaan niin pienellä palkalla mikä ei ole edes rahaa meille eurooppalaisille. Kuten sanoin, palaan varmasti aiheeseen mutta suosittelen katsomaan tämän dokumentin. Täytyy myöntää, että olen itsekin näiden brandien kuluttaja. Kaiken sen jälkeen mitä on nähnyt ja kokenut Afrikassa ja tämä dokumentti, saa heräämään todellisuuteen.

And there's one thing what I'd like to share in the end for you. The clothbusiness is one what I'd like to take more under the glass. I recommend to watch documentary "True cost". Have you ever thought why brandclothes are so cheap? H&M, Zara, Gina Tricot... What those are now. It shook me little to see how ladies in Asian countries work for those big companies. I'm not gonna talk more about it here but I give my advice to take to take a look of the documentary, it will make you think what you wanna support and why. I have to admit that I've consumed also moneys those brands. But I'll say after Africa and all what I've seen and experienced here and this documentary, my spendings will change.
